Simone Lewis

In her most recent role, Simone served as the Director of Development at Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health MD Anderson. As the Director of Development, she led all aspects of donor development process in support of the Mays Cancer Center, as well as any additional strategic institutional fundraising priorities. Additional duties including managing the Cancer Center’s Board and leading the SA Cancer Council- which is an external non-profit that raises funds for the Mays Cancer Center. Prior to working with UT Health San Antonio, Simone worked with the American Cancer Society in various roles, including Senior Development Manager and as a Hospital System Manager for the South Texas Region, where she served NCI-designated cancer centers, Commission on Cancer (CoC) accredited systems, Veterans Administrative (VA) hospitals, integrated delivery networks, and large oncology practices throughout South Texas. Simone has more than 15 years of health care and non-profit experience. She worked with various institutions to implement evidence-based strategies that aid in eliminating barriers to care and decreasing inequities in cancer care. Simone received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas, Arlington, and later received her master’s from the University of Texas, San Antonio. Simone is married and has identical twin daughters (Genesis and Gianna), she also has a golden retriever named Blu.
