Mr. Hector Rivera has graced the BPHN Board of Directors for over 4 years. A Licensed Masters in Social Work (Yeshiva University), he also holds a Masters in Public Administration (City University of New York, Queens), as well as being the proud owner of his own Home Health Aide business.
Mr. Rivera has held strong leadership positions in several nursing home organizations over the past 15 years, including Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) Hospice, Beth Abraham Nursing Home, Hospice of New York, Inc., and Casa Promesa Nursing Home. He was responsible for oversight of all nursing home facilities, including clinics, social services, admissions, medical records, rehabilitation, nutrition, therapeutic recreation, housekeeping, and marketing departments. His additional achievements include conducting budget analysis and quality improvement activities for Joint Commission recertification.
As a community leader, Mr. Rivera has been prominent in delivering presentations to local hospitals, nursing homes, senior centers, and clinics. He has formed strategic collaborations, acquired contracts, and expanded community relationships. Additionally, his community work extends to June 26 to December 2000 The Puerto Rican Family Institute Queens Mental Health Clinic, 163rd Improvement Council Scattered Site Program, FEGS Willow T.L.C. Inc. Bronx, Family Support Systems Inc., Bronx. His talents and abilities are boundless.
